New Year

Myaka Mpya 2010!
We saw the New Year in “Zanzibari” style, with great local musicians (pictured) drumming and singing until 3am, a fire going under the treehouse, locals, guests and ex-pats all celebrating together, it was just perfect! Having brought most of our guests in from town on the boat, we started off the party with a couple guys doing some very impressive capo-eira on the beach (we had to lock our dogs in our room for half an hour because they were too excited by the jumping and the kicking!) With a big barbecue served at 8pm, we then got down to some fun dancing with the musicians, some shisha pipe, drinking and so on, until at midnight we did a countdown and popped open the “bubbly”! :)
